MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF APRIL 14, 2009

The meeting was called to order by Dan Martin at 7:35 p.m. greeting the 14 neighbors in attendence.

Treasurer?’s Report:
Michael Tarr presented the March Treasurer?’s Reports. A motion ot approve them was made by Don Prichett. It was seconded by Mark Coggeshall and passed.

Special Events:
Michael commented on what a big success our 7th Annual Easter Egg Hunt was. the day was pefect and the median was swept clean in 10 minutes flat.

Donations are still coming in for our Annual Neighborhood Garage Sale on May 2nd. Michael mentioned that Miller will be blocked between 26th and 27th streets, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the sale. Michael said we would be keeping the old fashioned country picnic theme for our Spring Fling the next day, May 3rd, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Michael added, that a few more volunteers are needed to mow Venice Boulevard.

Security Report:
Mark Coggeshall said that an air conditioner was stolen from an empty house on 29th street. He said there has also been another rash of robberies from cars. There was on car stolen as well. Mark encouraged everyone, again, to make sure all cars are locked.

Old Business:
Dan Martin said our new neighborhood directory is in final proofing, so it might be ready for delivery with our June newsletter. He reminded neighbors to thank our advertisers when you do business with them.

Dan added that, though he has not been contacted, regarding the Spivey's building, he has seen surveyors, so assumes plans for renovation are proceeding.

New Business:
Noise pollution by neighbors was brought up at the meeting. Dan said if talking it over with offenders, and reporting it to the police does not resolve the issue to follow up by calling Action Line.

Adjournment:
Charles Torbeck made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:35 p.m. It was seconded by Sandy JOnes. the next monthly meeting will be Tuesday, May 12th, at 7:30 p.m., at May Avenue United Methodist Church.
