Residents in attendance: Rhonda Cole, Darlene Jones, Ruth Brown, Mary Griggley, Isay Gulley, Arlene Peterson, Brenda Roberts, Regina Parker, Madra Matthews, Glemma McCray, Mark Wooldridge

City Staff: Rick DeBord, Community Response; Fredd Hinson, Neighborhood Services; Julie Gomez, Neighborhood Services

The meeting began at 7:15 PM. Fredd Hinson, Neighborhood Services Manager introduced Rick DeBord from Community Response to discuss neighborhood code issues.

Neighborhood Elections
Residents in attendance elected officers for the roles of President, Vice-President, Webmaster, block captains, chaplain, and webmaster.

President ?– The President serves as the main contact with Neighborhood Services and the City of Clearwater Departments. This role entails facilitating neighborhood association meetings. The president may delegate some tasks associated with the meeting, but is ultimately responsible for seeing that tasks are completed.

Vice-President ?– Assists with association responsibilities. Provides back-up support for president in the event that he/she is unavailable to attend a meeting. The role of the Vice-presidents shall share duties of president.

Secretary ?– The secretary is responsible for taking minutes at Neighborhood Association meetings, and ensuring distribution of minutes to all residents. The secretary may also keep attendance records for meetings and membership information (if applicable).

Block Captains ?– Responsible for keeping their specific street or block informed of association activity. Block captains will actively communicate with the president, vice president, and secretary to keep them informed of daily activity in the neighborhood. Additional responsibilities may included association recruitment and assisting with meeting announcement distribution and special events.

Web Master ?– Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating neighborhood web page. Web pages are available a no charge through Neighborhood Links. At www.neighborhoodlink.com/clearwater or by calling 1-888-241-0123.

Chaplain- opens and closes with meditations or as the group deems necessary.

Those names with question marks were nominated but residents were not in attendance to verify if interested. Please call Mark Woolridge, president if interested in becoming a block captain or filling the role of secretary.

Reclaimed Water
Questions were raised about when Country Club Estates and North Greenwood would begin reclaimed water service. Residents voiced concerns over the health and safety of using reclaimed water, when reclaimed water would be available, and how much will it cost. A City representative will be available at the next meeting to discuss issues related to reclaimed water.

Parking on the Grass
Proposed Section 3-1407(A)(4)

No parking, displaying or storing of motor vehicles shall be permitted on grass or any other landscaped area in a required front setback on any residentially zoned property where parking on a paved driveway, paved street or other paved area is available.

If you would like to speak on this issue or ask questions please attend the Community Development Board public hearing on July 18th at 1:00 at City Hall or the City Commission public hearing on July 20th at 6:00 at City Hall. During these meetings residents will have a chance to comment.
