The block party kicked off at 4:30 p.m. with carnival games for the kids. Children from throughout the association tried their hand at an assortment of carnival games for fun and prizes. I think I even saw a few adults give it a try!
There where also punching balls and balloon animals to enjoy. Later in the evening, the kids were treated to a visit from the Southfield Fire Department, and they also had a chance to break a pinata.
To this observer, the children all seemed to have a good time.
Following the games, everyone set-up tables and chairs to socialize. Good food and friendly conversations ensued.
The evening was capped off by the salsa dance group, Energetic Soul! The group performed different couples and group salsa moves for about 30 minutes. Afterwards, it was time for the residents of CVA6 to join Energetic Soul out on the dance floor. In a matter of minutes, they had us dancing like salsa pros (well, maybe not pros). Many of us enjoyed a very fun (and quite aerobic) time!
By the way people lingered late into the night, I think we can call the party quite a success.
