Teen-agers hate it. Parents mostly love it. And some civil rights advocates are concerned the practice targets the two theaters with the largest concentration of black and Arab-American patrons. The source of the ruckus is the new "Family Night" policy at the Star Fairlane and Star Southfield theaters. After 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays, youths younger than 17 get in only with a parent -- one of the only such control-the-kids policies at any movie chain in the country.
