We have revised the form for Approval of Project and streamlined some of the procedures to get your projects approved and letters sent to you faster. A copy of the new form is part of this newsletter. Please put it in a safe place in the event you need to use it. Here are some reminders for you when considering making some changes or improvements to the exterior of your home. Please complete the form prior to beginning the work. It is difficult for our ACC committee to approve projects that have already been completed in the event there exists a violation in the completed work. Persons who are renting property are also required to submit the approval form, but they also have the responsibility of attaching to it a written consent from the owner of the property. We must be sure the property owner agrees with any changes to the landscape before the committee approves the project and it is up to the renter to obtain that written agreement. If you don?’t submit the required documents (property plat, diagram of project, etc.), the form will be returned to you for submission of the missing documents. You may well ask: Why do I need to get approval from some committee to improve my own property? The answer is because any improvement made to your property must be recorded somewhere since it affects market and appraisal value of your home. You will be glad you had the project documented and approved when it comes time to sell or rent your home.
