Dear Fellow Home Owner:
As we enter the next millennium, I believe it is a time to reflect upon our achievements as well as ponder what will be our legacy by moving forward.
I think we will all agree that we have one of the nicest sub-divisions in Pike Township, and for that matter, Marion County. As we enter the last phase of development, at which time we will be 100% accountable for all actions both positive and negative, we have some very challenging issues, concerns and goals. It is both exciting and rewarding to witness progress, however we need your commitment.
During my tenure as President of our HOA, I have met with many families and discussed issues as varied as our budget to ?“Hey, when are we going to get that park??” I have had the opportunity to laugh and voice my opinion on issues of major concern. Like many, I see both the positive and negative within our community.
The point is, we all must work together to accomplish our common goal. I have yet to meet any homeowner who is not looking for a positive yield on their investment. Whether it is our Annual Clean-Up day, our Annual Garage Sale, our Crime Watch meetings, or our General Home Owners Meeting held once per year, we owe it to ourselves and our community to participate in our legacy.
Our actions speak louder then any words during any meeting any time. We have had minimal crime, good family values and sound judgement. Yes, there are exceptions, but considering our size we are better than the norm for our surrounding areas (a 1-2% reported crime rate).
As homeowners, we should be prideful of our community. As prospective builders/buyers enter our community, I would like to think that they feel a sense of obligation to live up to our collective standards. Whether it is your lawn, your street, or the pond that backs up to your home, we all have a personal stake in the upkeep, security, and protection of our development. Take a moment to assess your commitment and your involvement. What will be your legacy?
Sincerely,
Roscoe E. Spencer, Jr.
