Mr. Harrison began a discussion regarding our current assessment amount and the financial issues that face the subdivision. Assessment amounts for other subdivisions and the amenities offered in Danbury were discussed and compared to the fees charged to maintain them. The Trustees conveyed a need for more revenue to continue subdivision capital improvements and maintain the aging recreation facility.
The pond committee gave a report on the condition of the pond and the proposal for a project to help clean up the condition of the water. Mr. Mike Kosta and Mr. Steve Gannon spoke about the installation of an aeration system, which would oxygenate the water and greatly improve the overall condition of the pond. In addition the need for chemical treatments was also discussed. Additional problems created by the geese were added to the conversation. The Trustees felt the neighborhood should move on this project whenever funds become available.
Trustee Mark Sell gave a report for the pool committee. The committee has purchased two new picnic tables to replace the old wooden ones. The tables should arrive in early June.
Trustee Matt Harrison gave a presentation requesting the need for a formal social committee in the subdivision. The Trustees feel that the goal of a social committee would be to encourage contact between neighbors who are often alienated by busy schedules and outside interests. The committee would be involved in introducing new homeowners to Danbury and the association, and developing events to bring neighbors together and help establish a community environment in the subdivision. Mrs. Vida Reid and Mrs. Susan Gannon agreed to work on the project.
Elections were held for a new Trustee. Mr. Steve Koetting agreed to run for another term and ran unopposed.
Newly elected Mayor Walter Young was in attendance and spoke briefly to the residents about issues concerning the City of Ballwin.
