Del Cerro Action Council

Several months ago, a family at the end of my street (Lambda and College Avenue) posted a message in large (12") letters across their living room picture window that evidently advertises a home business ("Psychic Consultants and Tarot Card Readings"), with a phone number. The street and area are zoned strictly for residential, not commercial or mixed use. I understand that the owners of the home have been fined $900 for previous violations of the signage ordinance because of a billboard erected with spotlights in their front yard (same message). What actions can be taken to assure enforcement of local signage ordinances against this party as an alternative to a lawsuit? We have lived in Del Cerro since 1973 and do not want to see this lovely area slide in property values and quality of life, and become another El Cajon.

unlawful and unsightly advertisement in our residential neighborhood. Maybe they'd like to lease some space in one of our little shopping areas on Del Cerro Boulevard! Otherwise, they need to get rid of the huge sign in their window or have their home redesignated as a business and be taxxed appropriately!
