Traffic Committee Completes Study— New Stop Signs Installed

Jul 22, 2004

This year the Denniston Park Traffic Committee completed it?’s second Neighborhood Traffic Study with the help of the OKC Traffic Department. The result was a new 4 way stop at NW 25th and Independence and a 3 way stop at Drexel and Denniston Drive.
Last years traffic study resulted in changing the eastbound stop signs at the intersection of Drexel and NW 26th to a three way stop, changed the east/west stop signs at Drexel and NW 27th to a four way stop, changed east/west yield signs at Land and NW 25th to a four way stop, changed east/west stop signs at Independence and NW 25th to north/south stop signs, changed east/west stop signs at Independence and NW 27th to a four way stop and changed east/west yield signs at Woodward and NW 26th to a four way stop.
Leann Morrow, our Traffic Committee Chairman, has been taking traffic complaints from neighbors and will be writing a letter to the OKC Police Department and OKC Traffic Commission asking them to place patrol officers at the sites of most complaints. Leann will be taking your concerns for a few more weeks to address in this letter. Contact Leann at either 605-0239 or morrowsooner@aol.com.
Many people are still running the new stop signs and many are still speeding on NW 27th street. These are areas that the committee will be asking for extra Police Patrol.
