Meeting Notes from 7/24/99

Jul 25, 1999

Notes from DSNA meeting 7/24/99 AM
1. We discussed the large number of small/close housing developments in the area. Mr. Goulet, Councilman, explained that 10-15 year old zoning permitted it to happen. (moral of the story; pay attention to unfriendly zoning that currently surrounds us.)
LETS HAVE A BLOCK PARTY; block off one street, bbq, fun for kids, you-name-it!
2. Group decided to set new slightly larger boundaries: 71ave/75ave, Bethany to Claremont
3. Mr. Larry Broyles, Engineering, provided a map of draft plans to widen Bethany Home Road... Clyde Miller, VP of Desert Springs Neighborhood Association, agreed to make a few copies of the draft plans, and he and I will walk them about the neighborhood for comments/suggestions.
4. Huge storm drain to be installed;
5. Widening project to be done by December 2000 (perhaps).
6. Erik to mail zoning map to me.
7. We need a park in our neighborhood.
8. We decided to meet quarterly, and we decided to ?‘go for?’ a National Night Out (dates to follow).
9. Next meeting to be an evening meeting (dates to follow).
10. Code Compliance to be invited next time
11. ?“Please keep our neighborhood looking nice... keep palm trees trimmed. Thank you.?”
12. Thank you Desert Springs Community Church for letting us meet at your lovely church.

please give us your ideas for next meeting agenda!
