First Neighborhood Meeting Captures Concerns, Interest of Neighbors
The first neighborhood meeting on April 22 at Woodglen Park brought together more than 30 families to share concerns, to hear what registering the neighborhood means and to learn more about how they can get involved.

Briefly, the benefits of registering the neighborhood include more attention from the city when a neighbor has a concern, the ability to apply for grants for neighborhood improvements, improved communication between the city and neighbors, and access to resources offered by the city to registered communities.

Neighbors expressed concerns primarily regarding safety and security, city code violations and unkempt properties.

Committees
Four committees were established to address concerns. Also, neighbors attending the meetings were asked to volunteer for various committees. If you were unable to attend the meeting, but are interested in volunteering, please contact the person(s) listed below.

The summer months will be time for planning. The next community meeting will be planned for mid-September to share committee plans/recommendations with the rest of the community and to gain feedback.

Communications will continue to be distributed during the summer by e-mail to give everyone an idea of status of committee plans and to provide additional information.

Also during the summer, a neighborhood directory and a Web site will be established. If you have any questions, please call Chris at (480) 664-1827 or e-mail at clambrakis@yahoo.com.
