TRENTON POET SELF-PUBLISHES BOOKS

HENKEL'S CURRENT AGENDA

DON HENKEL Don recently went to Pigeon Forge, TN to visit "The Incredible Christmas Store," where his first book, "A Legend of Santa and His Brother,Fred" is sold. He and Jan spent two days with Don reciting the story and signing many books for customers. Besides selling books, Don and Jan made new friends. One of which bought many of Don's book to take home to NC to sell to his friends.

His firstbook, "A Legend of Santa and His Brother,Fred"  is a children's Christmas Book entitled, "A LEGEND OF SANTA AND HIS BROTHER FRED." A cleverly written story in verse of how Santa Claus came to be and a revelation of his brother, Fred Claus is beautifully illustrated by his son, D.B. Henkel.

It is a lovely hard cover 8 1/2" x 11" book with dust jacket. There are 20 plus full page illustrations in full color.

The punch line is ... "now does Fred look like Santa? Well, I'd say just a tad, but he wears a green, white-tassled hat and looks mor like your dad."

The story tells how Santa got his job and where the toys originally came from.

Released June 13, 2000, there have been somewhere around 10,000 copies sold

His  second book is Painted Treasures, a book about the history of the Original Two hundred-eighty-eight Tree Gnomes. This book is also beautifully illustrated by son, D.B. Henkel of Traverse City, MI.

These two books are $20 each plus shipping if ordered to be mailed.

Don's third book is "Times in Rhyme With Reason." It is a collection of his poetry with "Reasons" on the opposite page from each poem. The 'Reason" is how the poem came to be. Also the book contains biographical information and stories of Don's life, along with family pictures. It has a beautiful leather-like cover and is $35. (plus shipping unless obtained directly from the author.)

DON APPEARS AT SCHOOLS

Don and wife, Jan, go to schools and present his work and tell children how they self-published the two books. They tell them that they, too, can do anything they desire if they are willing to work at it.
