Another great year is under way at Downriver Poets & Playwrights. We are gaining excitement and enthusiasm with our new President of The Poetry Society of Michigan Mono D'Angelo and his VP Jim Ahearn. Mono and Jim belong to our local poetry group. All officers of PSM are working together for a more vital State Poetry Society.
We say a sad farewell to our leader, Gwen Funston, who has served as coordinator of P&P for many years. Members of our group have benefited greatly from Gwen's leadership. Our expertise in writing poetry has increased, our confidence has been built to the point that many of us are "published poets" now.
Gwen and her daughter Erith, who has been such a great help to her mother and P&P in so many aspects of our organization, are moving to Kansas where Erith's family redides. They have bought a nice home on a lake where Erith is looking forward to catching some "big ones." We will miss them both. We say a big "THANKS!" to Gwen and Erith, too.
We are lookiing forward to our Spring meeting of the Poetry Society of Michigan. Details and date will be announced soon.
Anyone interested in joining our workshop, see main page for details.
