Tornado watches and warnings posted made no difference to 23 members of Downriver Poets & Playwrights on the third Tuesday of this month.
They came to meeting armed with wonderful poems and lots of good eats. We had a banquet!
We are encouraged by our growing number in attendance and new members. We are almost outgrowing our meeting room. Not a bad problem to have.
Mono D'Angelo, our workshop leader and Poetry Society of Michigan President, reports the Poet Laureate bill is making good progress. Our thanks to Mono for his hard work in this area. It will be quite an accomplishment when this is passed and Michigan joins the majority of states who have a Poet Laureate.
Looking forward to our Christmas dinner on Dec. 6th. and a great new year of more "wordsmithing."
