Luxury high-rise community set to begin construction

Real estate development company Koontz McCombs will officially begin construction Wednesday on The Broadway, the company's planned 20-story luxury residential building.

Built at the former site of the famed Earl Abel's restaurant, The Broadway, will have underground parking, a 24-hour doorman, an outdoor pool and housekeeping and dry-cleaning services.

Earl Abel's subsequently relocated to its present location at 1201 Austin Highway.

The Broadway will be located at 2120 E. Hildebrand, at the intersection of Broadway and Hildebrand Avenue. Now that development on the project is officially under way, The Broadway is slated for completion in December 2009.

San Antonio-based Koontz McCombs is a commercial real estate development company founded by Bart Koontz and Red McCombs.
