DRA Board of Directors

Joan Korte

Joan Korte moved to San Antonio in 1970 when her husband was assigned to Kelly AFB as a test pilot. She served 2 years as a 1/LT in the USAF Nurse Corps. After Her husband's retirement in 1974, they made SA their home and raised their 2 children here. They are members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Joan is a member of the Society of Air Force Nurses, the SA Conservation Society, and the Fiesta Commission. She serves on the Downtown Advisory Board, the Riverwalk Capital Improvements Advisory Board, the SA Conservation Society's Neighborhood Liaison Committee and the VIA Project Advisory Committee. She has been a member of the DRA for 15 years, serving in every capacity and holding every office. After completing 4 years as President, she is a member of the Board of Directors and the Membership Committee Chairman.

Kay Kutchins

A Downtown resident since 1992, Kay Kutchins is a resident of The Left Bank where she has served as president of her homeowners association and is in her second term as a member of the Downtown Residents Association board. She is a member of the San Antonio Symphony's Annual Fund/Maestro Society committee and a choir member and deacon at First Presbyterian Church. She also is a board member of the Olmos Ensemble. Kay has been a resident of San Antonio since 1971 and has two sons who reside in the Dallas area and are graduates of Texas A&M University. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, coordinates UI alumni activities in San Antonio and is a member of the Big Ten Council of San Antonio. She also is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a master's degree in environmental management. A consultant to public drinking water utilities, Kay has served in all officer positions in the Texas Section of the American Water Works Association, and is a past vice president of the national/international AWWA organization. She is an instructor in the North American Development Bank's Utility Management Institute program and a frequent speaker at water utility industry meetings. She is the recipient of numerous AWWA awards, including "Outstanding Service to the Water Industry," Honorary Member, and George Warren Fuller award.

Tony Cantu

Tony Cantu has owned Audry's Mexican Restaurant since 1980. This family business was established in 1949. He has lived downtown 58 years and has long committed to supporting downtown interest. Specialized in being a supporter of the San Antonio River: Member of SA River Corridor Committee 1982, SA River Oversight committee and Chair of Museum Reach 1999 to present. Lifetime Member SA livestock Show & Rodeo, past member of SA Chamber of Commerce and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, past Board Member and current member of SA Restaurant Association. Founder of Madison Square Neighborhood Association which eventually merged to become part of DRA, member of San Fernando Cathedral. Proudest of all-Graduated Southwest Texas State University 1995.
