CIVIC CLUB TO APPLY FOR PROHIBITED FRONT AND SIDE YARD PARKING ORDINANCE

Dumbarton Oaks is a small residential community bounded by Sims Bayou to the north, West Fuqua to the south, both sides of Quention to the east and north and south bound Hiram Clarke Rd to the west. The community is comprised primarily of single family homes which have over time become populated by persons who believe that parking on the yards adjacent to their homes is an acceptable practice. This gives visitors to our community a very bad impression. It also results in lower property values for all. After repeated request from homeowners who take pride in their surroundings to do something about others who dwell in the community but seemingly take no pride in the way their lawns look or the resulting economic and visual effect of their assault on our community. The Dumbarton Oaks Civic Club finds it necessary to request the assistance of the City of Houston through application for the Prohibited Yard Parking Ordinance. Once established, violating the Prohibited Yard Parking Requirement Area will be a misdemeanor and violators will receive a fine not to exceed $150 a day.
