The most recent version of the DSNA bylaws is believed to be from Summer '97. Currently a small committee is reviewing these and bylaws of other neighborhood associations. We plan to know if there ought to be recommended revisions or new bylaws to present at the October meeting. Another question which will soon be taken up by this committee or a subsequent committee is--Does a Neighborhood Association Benefit from Non-Profit status? What goals does this Association have, and are they easier to accomplish with the
informal structure we have, or is it a natural progression to grow into a non-profit with a mission statement, a budget, a lobbyist in the Ward 1 council office, etc. etc.
If you have questions or comments on by-laws or structure, please attend the next meeting October 15, or call Deborah at 882-7717, or e-mail your thoughts to DunbarSpring@yahoogroups.com. In theory, the proposed changes (if any) will be presented in October and voted on in November. If the '97 bylaws are all good, this will simply be a review of them in case there are questions in anybody's mind.
