As we move into the Spring of this year 2008. We find ourselves faced with decreased federal, state, and city financing for public services.
The decreased tax collection of all three government bodies is real,and the cuts are on the way. The State & City Governments as we know it is changing for less service and finding new ways to increase city revenues - new taxes, fines, penalties, and new fees.

These are critical times in all of our lives as we depend on these government services for our collective quality of life - services we all depend on in our daily lives i.e. healthcare, education, police, state services, city services ... the list is long... The services will be effected with decreased budgets. Get ready Los Angeles citizens - the cuts are on the way!

What is your position on what services should be cut? Do we really have any input on these life service units of government? Does government really listen our concerns? or are we all too busy with our individual lives to really bother with that government stuff? That's what the politians depend on...The people not really demanding good and honest government from people elected to protect our overall interest.

So how does one really demand good government? By becoming involved in your own local community. It starts with good block clubs and works it's way up in the organization of the people. Wnen is the last time you attended your block club meeting? Do you even have one?

Do you know who your city councilperson is? Do you have contact with their staff? who is paid to assist you with city related problems? Do you know your Assemblyperson? same question regarding their staffs? Well you get where this is going.

Get Involed! Don't sit back and complain! Do something to better your neighborhood. Take the time to make where you live a better place. If you won't do it? then who will?
