ECNA Needs Your Help - Annual City-Wide Clean Up Day

WHO IS NEEDED?:
Volunteer workers and volunteer working team leaders for a neighborhood wide project

WHAT FOR?:
ECNA Neighborhood Clean Up Day - A/K/A The 2003 GREAT AMERICAN CLEAN UP (GACU)


WHEN NEEDED?:
SATURDAY, MAY 17, 2003 - From: - 8 A.M. - Until 12 NOON


WHERE NEEDED?:
A Few Designated Alleys Located In The East Central Neighborhood Association*
* The ECNA is located in the 5th Fort Wayne city council district. It is bounded by the Maumee River on the North, the end of the RR tracks at the Winter St. dead end to the South, Anthony St. to the East and Lafayette St. to the West


WHY NEEDED?:
To pick up and remove litter, paper, debris, dead branches, pop cans, tires, glass bottles, bricks, brush piles, trash, etc.

HOW IS PROJECT TO BE DONE?:
With several teams of 8 to15 volunteers workers and their working team leader(s). The teams will utilize City provided, gloves garbage bags and a garbage truck with a driver & helper


It is being estimated that there will be over 3,000 volunteers for the 2003 GACU. Last year the 2002 GACU had over 2,700 city-wide volunteers. In 2002, there were more than 40 volunteers working in the alleys of the East Central Neighborhood on the ECNA-GACU day conducted in May 2002

The City will host a post-cleanup party from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on May 17th. It will be held at Headwaters Park with baloons, food, drinks, music, games and a raffle for prizes.

All ENCA-GACU volunteers are invited to attend the post-cleanup party.

The 5/17/03 ECNA - GACU clean up day event is actually a ECNA community improvement project.

We are requesting the involvement and participation of any individual or group committed to a cleaner better East Central Neighborhood: to walk in, drive in, live in, work in, appreciate and take pride in.

NOTE: you can leave a brief online note here to request 1 or 2 packets of city provided flower seeds for your yard.

Identify and list online 5 to 7 ECNA problem alley areas you would like to see addressed during the 5/17/03 ECNA Clean Up Day. The problem alley areas can be located anywhere in OUR East Central Neighborhood.

REMEMINDER #2: When you identify ECNA problem alley areas you want to see on the ECNA problem alley area list, please be specific. Include the closest north, south, east and west cross streets near each problem location. Also indicate where and in what location or area of the alley the problem can be found by a clean up team on 5/17/03(ie... which end and or side of the alley or in the middle of the alley etc…)
