East Central Neigborhood Association

Neighborhood Plan Ready for Review

Apr 08, 2005

The ECNA Community Development Area Plan is nearing completion. Our planning committee has been meeting and working since late 2003, to address the issues facing East Central and how the neighborhood can be improved.

The committee worked to develop goals and strategies for the 21st Century, and now with YOUR involvement and support, we will move these plans forward, guided by our shared visions and values developed in the Dudley Street Workshop in 2002.

This plan, when completed, will be presented to Fort Wayne City Council for formal adoption in May, and will then become a part of Fort Wayne?’s Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan will be used to guide future growth and development in Fort Wayne.

Your involvement is needed because we all have a stake in this process. This includes home owners, renters, community groups, churches, businesses, schools, etc. If you missed our Open House held last January at East Central Towers, you still have an opportunity to review the goals and action steps at our next association meeting, Thurs., April 21, at 6PM., at the ECNA Neighborhood House, at 1205 E. Lewis.

It?’s important that you attend this meeting to get the information first-hand! Some of the items to be discussed at the April meeting will be the goals and actions steps needed to bring economic development, quality affordable housing, and improved services to the East Central Neighborhood. This is an important step for ECNA and all other neighborhoods?—you are needed, so please join us!
