Dear Mayor Baker,
On behalf of the residents of Eagle Crest subdivision, please allow this letter to serve as our endorsement of City of St. Petersburg plans to reduce traffic lanes and incorporate bicycle lanes on the streets bordering our neighborhood, those of 9th and 5th Avenues North, from 66th Street East to Tyrone Boulevard. Currently, the area of 9th Avenue North from 66th Street West to Park Street has been renovated and the changes have not only reduced the number of speeders, but has made the lane more aesthetically pleasing. We see many homeowners who are busy improving their properties along these streets (some for the first time).
As an oasis in the busy Tyrone area, Eagle Crest enjoys wide brick streets, mature trees and many second generation families. Busy traffic is of great concern to our Association. Speeders have been clocked in excess of 70 mph on 7th Avenue from Tyrone Blvd to 66th Street. If changes to 9th and 5th Avenues will alleviate the strain on our through streets, we support it. Thank you for your consideration and efforts on behalf of our City.
Respectfully,
Lance Lubin, President
Eagle Crest Homeowners Association
