Streetlight out, broken or flickering intermittently?
You can request service on-line at TampaElectric.com. Click on "Residential", then "Customer Service" and proceed to the topic "Streetlight Out".
There is (or should be) a 10 digit number on the light pole; please have it available to expedite service to that light. If for some reason that ID# is not available, please describe -- as accurately as possible -- the location of the light; i.e., between house number X and house number Y, half a block past Z Street on the east side of M Avenue, etc.
If you prefer to make your request by telephone, the number is (813) 223-0800. Leave the same information as requested for the on-line report.
TECO trims trees surrounding street lights & power lines for the purpose of working on the lines or preventing a power outage.
City of Tampa Clean Sweep Division trims trees for safety; i.e., to enable street lights to cast light further out for safety in public areas.
To request tree trimming for lighting improvement for safety, make a request on-line at TampaGov.net, Customer Service Center, Citizen Action Request,then Fallen or Low Overhanging Tree Limbs. If a tree limb is obstructing traffic signs or signals, click on the appropriate department--this is a different site from the one previously mentioned.
