This is part of an email I received from Georgie Smith.
"I was out walking in the Soaring Heights street cul-de-sac on Thursday, April 19th, and a man came out of the woods dressed in a full camo
outfit carrying a shotgun over his shoulder. My young son was with me so I didn't want to make a big deal, but I asked him if he should be back there shooting. He said he was far back in the woods. I made some other comment and he said that Keith Pruett said that it was ok for him to be back there. I told him that there were kids that lived along that back row of woods and
he promised me that he was shooting at least 600 - 700 yards back. I dropped it at that point, but got his partial license # and called the police to see if this was something that was legal. They came out to my house and said that as long as he was pointing in the right direction, it was legal. We already have enough problems in our neighborhood without our developer telling people they can use our woods as a shooting range. This guy may have just been using Keith's name, but I feel this is something we should try to stop even if Keith has given his
approval.
Keith called me back promptly this morning. He is more than willing to have the person stop coming into our neighborhood to hunt. He explained what was going on and who the person was. Keith does not want to upset any one or
cause problems within the neighborhood. The hunting is legal and Rocky Mountain Pass actually backs up to a hunting ground. He told me to call him back if I wanted to have this person stop using our neighborhood as an
access place. He will be done with turkey hunting my the middle of May. I
guess I am okay with it, but will certainly avoid walking down that street.
So now it is hunters AND dogs to avoid. :)"
So, what do you think about this issue.
