Edgemoor Meeting Oct. 17, 2002
Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M.
Minutes were read and approved. There was no treasury report available.
Our CPO report included things like criminal mischief to vehicles, residential burglary and 1 armed robbery that actually occurred near Emerald Point Apts. All in all things were rather quiet. The Police Dept. is in transition to new weapons so the CPO?’s are being called to fill in the schedules. Prostitution stings are back in the works in our area because where there is an increase in prostitution there is an increase in drug dealers also.
The St. Pete Audubon Society Neighborhood Outreach Program gave us an informative presentation about protecting and restoring our natural eco-systems. St. Pet is one of the oldest chapters of the National Audubon Society in the nation. They also told us about a bird walk that was scheduled for Oct. 19 at Puryear Park and all were welcome to attend.
The City of St. Pete is looking for a letter of ?“NO OBJECTION?” from the association for a new reclaimed water storage tank . It was agreed that we will ask someone to come out and talk to us about this.
Tom Killian Vice President of Jungle Terrace Civic Assoc. gave us a brief talk about the Neighborhood Leadership Program. There is a $50.00 fee for this and it is held on the 2nd & 4th Mondays from 7:00 ?– 9:00 P.M. if anyone is interested in the next session.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P.M
