A quorum was not available for the 7 PM Board Meeting
President Tracy Salomone chaired the general business meeting.
It was agreed that our Association will not meet during the months of June, July or August. [Formal meetings are precluded by our bylaws.]

Lee Ann read her report of the April Business Meeting Minutes. [Approved]
Conrad Weiser gave his report as our CONA representative.
- Conrad moved we pay our CONA membership dues
($25.). [Approved]
There was a discussion of our neighborhood traffic control plans. Some amendments were considered.
We met our two new Community Police Officers.
- Officer Joe Truong will replace Officer Beahn who
has been promoted to Sergeant. Joe has worked in
this zone but has no previous experience as a CPO.
- Officer Brian Taylor will substitute for our
regular CPO, Keith Glasgow, who is training to be
a sergeant. Officer Taylor was previously a CPO
in the Gandy Boulevard area.
We heard a report of the status of our neighborhood traffic-calming plan.
- The implementation of our speed humps has been
delayed until January due to budget restrictions.
- Debbie Larson, our Public Service Representative
offered some insights into the traffic calming
delays. Upcoming resurfacing plans will delay
installation of traffic humps. Traffic
Engineering transferred the speed hump work to
The Stormwater Dept. They subcontract "Hump" work.
- Debbie also suggested we could get a crime
fighting grant to add light needed at Puryear
Park to discourage mischief. She urged that we
invite the city Lighting Coordinator to our next
meeting.
- We heard that "Snipe Signs" are now removed by
Sanitation workers rather than Codes inspectors.
- The state is responsible for maintenance on the
54th Ave. Canal.
Tracy gave an update on the progress of our Edgemoor Newsletter.
- The city will provide the needed mailing list for
all residences in our neighborhood.
- We plan to post the newsletter text files on
Neighborhoodlink.
- Our CPO's will alternate in providing newsletter
text.
- Tracy needs text submissions by August 14th. to
publish and deliver our newsletter a week prior
to our September 21st meeting.
Our meeting was highlighted by the late arrival of our District3 City Councilman Bill Foster who chatted with those in attendance, answering questions and comments from the floor.
- Unfortunately, the current City Council schedule
conflicts with our monthly Edgemoor meetings.
- He will try to improve the schedule for traffic
control street work in Edgemoor.
- We can obtain a permit to temporary block traffic
for a neighborhood block party.
- He touched on the balance between the
acknowledged need for more Police within the
constraints of our city budget.
- He reviewed the problem of "Slumlords" who fail
to provide adequate maintenance for rental
residences.
- Mr. Foster has had discussions with our
Postmistress regarding the threat of cancelled
mail delivery when their carriers are threatened
by neighborhood dogs.
- He urged us to develop and maintain a listing of
the 5 most troublesome problems noted in our
neighborhood and urged us to convey these to the
city to enlist their support in developing
solutions.
