Lower Oxford Township Zoning Dispute with Mushroom Composter

Losito and Jones (a mushroon composting company with operations in West Grove) are appealing a new zoning ordinance that was enacted by the LOT board that effectively "prohibits" them from operating within the Industrial zone in Lower Oxford Township off of Old Baltimore Pike adjacent to the Scotts Company.

There are a number of hearings taking place and this affects us only in that we are downwind from this site given prevailing winds. The Southern Chester County Concerned Citizens Organization is a party to these hearings as well as the Lower Oxford Township board and residents within a half-mile of the proposed site. We are neither so have no standing, but we can probably influence public opinion or assist the SCCCC organization. I have included links to the latest hearings and the SCCCC web site below.
