Elvira Neighborhood Association Meeting 2/11/13
Meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m.
Moment of Silence
Minutes: the Jan 2013 minutes were accepted as written. Motion to accept Sam Valdoval 1st and 2nd by Oscar Tortosa.
Treasurers Report: no change. Motion to accept Sam Valdoval 1st and 2nd by Oscar Tortosa.
Old Business: By-Laws were worked on by the committee before the regular meeting, and are about half way through them.
New Business: GaryWittwier from the City announced there are funds for the walking path. 4625.00 in CBGD grants which can be used for benches, or repair & maintenance in the form of fog coating on the walking path. Majority decided to do the fog coating to preserve the asphalt on the path. Discussed water harvesting around the trees. Gary stated he could get us some rock for use
around the trees.
Gary will also check with the City sign shop about moving the ENA signs from Elvira/San Fernando & 6th/Elvira to Santa Clara/Valencia & 12th Ave/Los Reales.
Motion to move the ENA meetings to the 3rd Monday of the month starting in April; Oscar Tortosa 1st & 2nd by Lydia Castillo, and approved by all without further discussion. Discussed the newsletter, need to have it ready to go by mid March. Our meetings will be held in the Hope Church library starting in April.
Call to the Audience: Ward One: Amy representing Ward 1 reported on the flooding issue stating that Pima Co Flood Control approved the scope of work for Medina & Santa Clara. The
remedial work will be going to bid. Amy also said she'd look into what happened to the Safe Route to School money ENA was promised years ago.
Hope Church has a Mobile Health Clinic on the first four Wednesdays of every month. It is a U of
A clinic they ask for a $20.00 donation but will see you even if you cannot donate. Both Spanish & English are provided.
TPD Report: Officer Wilford said crime is down due to the recent cold spell. They have arrested
some of the graffiti offenders.
