Approved Minutes

Officers Present:     David Densmore, President

                                  Mikki Niemi, Vice President, Interim Treasurer

                                   Tere Filkin, Secretary, Council Member

                                   Oscar Tortosa, Sgt at Arms, Council Member

Guest Speakers:  no guest speakers this month

 Call to Order:  President David Densmore called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Moment of Silence

Introductions were made around the room

TPD Report:   Sgt Joe Merrill was present, reporting that crime is low in our area, although there have been some crime, numbers are looking really good.  Police officers are low due to retirement or relocation, although they have hired the community services officers who are currently in the Police Academy.

Minutes:   There were a couple of corrections to the Dec minutes, a sentence left off and Mikki asked that corrections to the officers up for election this month be made to:  Vice President, Secretary, Historian and five Council Members.  Motion to accept the Dec 2014 minutes with those corrections was made by Oscar Tortosa and seconded by Abel Salcido and was approved by all present.

Treasurers Report:  Treasurer Mikki Niemi reported no change from last month, balance of $1551.91 although he did not have the info with him.  Motion to accept the treasurer's report was made by Oscar Tortosa and seconded by Rachel Tortosa.   Motion was passed by all present.

Old Business:      no old business was discussed

New Business:            A) Elections:   Officers

Oscar Tortosa was nominated for Vice President by Dave Densmore and seconded by Tony Martinez.  Oscar accepted and was approved by all present.

Tere Filkin was nominated for Secretary by Abel Salcido and seconded by Oscar Tortosa,  Tere accepted and was approved by all present.

Yolanda Martinez was nominated for Historian by Oscar Tortosa and seconded by Tere Filkin.  Yolanda accepted and was approved by all present.

B) Elections:   Council Members

Abel Salcido was nominated by Mikki Niemi and seconded by Oscar Tortosa,;

Lucio Estolano was nominated by Mikki Niemi and seconded by Oscar Tortosa,;

Santiago Rios was nominated by Oscar Tortosa and seconded by Rachel Tortosa;

Tony Martinez was nominated by Oacar Tortosa and seconded by Dave Densmore;

Gloria Felix  was nominated by Mikki Niemi and seconded by Oscar Tortosa, 

All accepted the nominations and were approved by all present.

Call to the Audience:  

A) Oscar Tortosa stated he will be cleaning up behind the church in the area designated for a park and would welcome any volunteers to assist.

President's report:   Dave stated the Bylaw committee has the revised Bylaws ready to be read in at the Feb meeting and he thinks the Bylaws is something we should be continuously working on...  This may take more than one meeting to read in to be able to approve them.  He also reported the Prison inmates have finished the cleanup of the Walking Path between Santa Clara Ave and 12th Ave and did a really nice job.

Adjournment:  Motion to adjourn was made by Oscar Tortosa, seconded by Tere Filkin.   Motion was passed by all present.  Meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
