We're new to Emerald Mountain and enjoying our new home and neighhood. Wondering if the new restaurant at the golf course opened this weekend. Heard back in December the plan was to open spring 2008, weekends only.

Welcome to EM! We love it here and know you will to! Just watch out for the 11 year olds on golf carts when you drive! I have not heard that such a resturant was to be at the golf area. Though it would be a great idea... A nice place to have a nice meal nearby would save us all $3.00 on tolls when we want to go out to eat! If you are new to Wetumpka, there are some resturant that are worth checking out in town. Casa Nopoli is very good (in my opinion) and while the outside is nothing to speak of, the inside is surprisingly elegant and the food is very good. As for Mexican, there are a few in Wetumpka, but I prefer San Marcos. The food is good but the help and waiters are exceptionally nice and friendly. Though it has a smoking section that isn't much of a seperation from the reat of the floor. While Little Sams cafe downtown used to be a great place for lunch, it is my understanding that it isn't as good as it used to be since some recent family issues came up within the family of the owner. Avoid the chains in Wetumpka, especially Ruby Tuesdays. Very poor service and R.T. as a whole is really not much for the price you pay. Just my 2 cents. |

Thanks for your '2 cents" I found it very informative....Coming into a new area, it's good to learn from others experiences.. The Christmas cook out at the golf course is where we heard about the plan for the restaurant ..... And have seen them working on the yellow building on the hill. for weeks.. There was a function there Saturday night....I don't know if it rents for parties etc. ,just thought it might be the opening.

We often run across the toll bridge to Bogies, a bar with surprisingly good food like Grilled Chicken Caesar Salads. But you can't miss Ranchito Morin, the absolutely best Mexican Restaurant in Wetumpka (or the Tri-County area, for that matter) with food and drinks to die for. Just up 231 on the right side of the road before you get to Walmart (if you are northbound). This restaurant has a huge reputation and following, and therefore is pretty full every day for dinner.
