FOCUS
Meeting Notes
March 5, 2003
PRESENT: Charlie Bauer, Carol Hargrove, Randy Raymond, Mike Tardiff, Bill
McGonagle, Steve Finch, and Amy Currie.
Tardiff shared a list that Amy Sheridan had created which contained items
necessary for the workshop.
It was announced that Rundlett cafeteria has be secured for March 22. Concord
20/20 has agreed to sponsor the event and let FOCUS use its insurance. The room
is reserved from 11 -5. It will cost about $100, and 20/20 will pay that for
us. The agenda will run from 12:30 to 4:30. The group decided it would be best
to ask the school to provide some audiovisual equipment and other a/v equipment
from CCTV. It was suggested that Hargrove contact the media specialist at the
school. McGonagle recommended investing in large poster board sized post its.
Dickinson suggested that the group keep a list of people/groups who donate in
order to give them recognition. She volunteered to handle all the publicity
items on the sheet provided by Sheridan.
Discussion turned to the flier. The group noted that the traffic expert should
be more prominent on the flier. Discussion ensued concerning specific language
and setup of the flyer. The group decided its main target for these flyers
would be Broadway and the surrounding streets. Dickinson suggested creating 500
fliers and 50 posters. Another set of 400 would be created for Conant. Bauer
suggested creating 1,000 for distribution. The group agreed that 1500 flyers
and 100 posters would suffice. The group recommended printing the fliers on a
bright color, like yellow. It was suggested that the group look into putting a
flyer into the Concord Monitor. Tardiff agreed to ask Sheridan if 20/20 would
pay for an ad instead.
The group agreed that due to the time restrictions, it would go out and buy
refreshments rather than ask for donations. Members volunteered to distribute
flyers and complete other necessary tasks. Dickinson offered to have the flyers ready for distribution on Saturday. The group agreed to have them handed out by
Thursday.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at 72 N. Main St.
Concord.
