Mr. Best:
Sorry, but both Mr. Saffel and I will be involved in a booster club meeting on Wednesday evening and will not be able to come to your meeting. However, I believe I can address the issues that you have.

On the color of the text, it is available in either red or yellow. From our previous discussions I under stand that the coalition would prefer we select yellow, which we will do.

The sign we desire allows us to have messages appear either as a stream of messages, or as a drop in/pop up pattern. We can alter the amount of time that an individual message appears based on the number of messages we need to have on any given day. If there are a limited number of messages on a day, individually they would be visible for a greater amount of time. On days when there are a greater number of messages to display, then individually they would be up for shorter periods of time. We would never be exactly sure how many messages we would have on a given day. It would be understood that there will be peak times for messages, like the start and end of the school year and semester break when more activities are occuring in school, but for the most part I believe the number of messages on a given day or week would be fairly consistent.

It has always been our plan to limit the scope of messages to those of school business only. We have no plan to sell advertising to vendors, to make "birthday" announcements, or even announcements of a community nature, other than for our annual "Pancake Day". At the present time announcements are limited to school day activities (e.g. test day announcements, schedule changes like late arrival or early dismissals, and after school activities, like sports contests, plays, band concerts, etc.) We are presently negotiating with a vendor to become the lead sponsor for our Mid-West Classic wrestling event. If we are able to negotiate an arrangement with them, then the name of the event would include their name in the title, but that is still undecided. In any case, that display would only appear for the 3 days prior to the weekend event.

I hope this helps to clarify our intentions, and our willingness to work with the coalition. I left a message for you at work, and hope to speak to you directly prior to your meeting.

With regards,
Bill
