FPNA Board Meeting December 2, 2003 Minutes

Present: Jerry Woods, Greg McCollum, Jeff Van Hoosear, Diane Farley and Tom Smalley

Upcoming Events: The Holiday Tree Lighting event was discussed and assignments were made among the Board members as to the items needed for the event. We would meet at the tree this coming Saturday at 10:00 am to decorate the tree.

New Neighbor Packet: We discussed obtaining information and materials, which could be, collected and distributed to new Fisher Park Neighbors. It was also decided that a small plant or flower bouquet would be purchased and presented along with the packet.

The sign-painting project was discussed. Diane and Greg volunteered to talk with local painters and possibly service groups (such as the Boy Scouts) who might be willing to assist us.

The schedule for Board meetings and General FPNA meetings for 2004 were set as follows:
Board Meetings: Jan 6, Feb. 3. March 2, April 6, May 4, June 1, July 6, Aug. 3, Sept. 7, Oct. 5, Nov. 2 and Dec. 7.
General Meetings were scheduled for: March 9, June 8, Sept. 14 and Nov. 9

2004 events were discussed: Tentative dates of Dec. 5 or 12 were discussed for the Tree Lighting. Dumpster Days would be scheduled for the weekends following garage sale weekends; we would contact the Mothers of Floral Park to possibly join again in the Halloween event that they sponsor in Jack Fisher Park. As July 4 is on a Sunday this year, it was discussed whether the event should be held in the same format/venue, a change in format or venue or not held at all and have a different summer event, since the 4th is on a weekend and many individuals will be out of town. More discussion will be necessary before a decision should be made on this issue.
