* Discussion regarding current status and use of the Farmers Site. Tom S. to contact Regan?’s or Dave Ream?’s offices to request a representative from the City provide us an update to the intended use and status of this property for our next General Meeting.

* Discussion regarding the appearance and overall condition of Jack Fisher Park. The eight white plastic barrel-style trashcans are creating severe problems for residents surrounding the park, and unnecessarily contributing to the debris that is scattered throughout the park. Daily, the crows remove trash and scatter it around the park. Frequently the crows drop food and bones, which become maggot-infested into neighbor?’s back yard, which adjoin the park. Kari C. will contact Park Maintenance (or City Managers Office) asking for guidance and direction in order to obtain trash cans with lids, similar to the two concrete ones that are up by the cabin.

Several residents agreed and were in favor of finding out the current direction and ideas the City has for preventative maintenance of the park (cabin, equipment, fire pit, etc) and how we can improve the overall shabby appearance of the park from the street. Alfredo A. will contact Park Maintenance and invite to our next General Meeting to review with residents the maintenance, and future direction of the park.

Barbara R will contact Parks and Recreation and/or the City Managers office to see if the city can replant the three trees, which have fallen over in the past three years.

* Discussion regarding the recent neighborhoods traffic study, which was conducted by the City. The traffic committee Comprised of residents from the four adjoining neighborhoods felt that the traffic study was not accurate and the City was not doing enough to mitigate the negative impacts of the increasing traffic through each of the neighborhoods. Following the release of the study from the City the four neighborhoods hired an independent contractor to evaluate the Cities findings and challenge their results. The cost for the independent study was $250, which was taken in donation from our residents during the last general meeting.

A suggestion was made to ensure that all meeting with a City officials or meeting of similar nature all have meeting minutes taken to ensure that pertinent issues pertaining to quality of life in our neighborhood are not overlooked.

For more information on Traffic Safety Committee ?– contact Jerry Wood.

* Discussion regarding One Broadway Plaza. Orange County Register November 16th, 2004 paper confirmed that there would be a special City election to see if residents want the building.

* Discussion on the deterioration of the bridge on Flower Street. Alfredo A. To contact the City to see if anything can be done to repair the damaged concrete and take steps in restoring the deteriorating bridge. There was also discussion on possibly adding flags or signage to the bridge.

Meeting concluded 8:00PM.
