The Forest at Stone Oak Board of Directors met on Monday, October 6th, 2003. Items discussed were as follows.

Gate Repairs
The computer chips in the system are bad and need to be replaced, but it may also be the main board that needs to be replaced. TexDoor sent a quote to repair the computer components totaling about $800. Previous boards had discussed replacing the system, but due to lack of funds, had to be placed on the back burner. We are currently trying to gather necessary information regarding replacing the entire computer system. Instead of spending the $800 for repairs, we could use that towards a new system. As we gather this pertinent information we ask for your patience as the gates remain a few more days to finalize our decision. Any questions, call a board member.

SPEED LIMIT SIGNS
Speed limit signs have been ordered and will be placed along Pinon. The speed limit will be 25 mph, with exception of the Rec. Center, area which is set at 20 mph. Expect to see these signs in the next month.

Landscaping
We received the design proposal from the landscape architect, Cynthia Stauder. She was hired to re-design the entire front entrance to the neighborhood and along the stone wall and curb just inside the gate. The intent is to have an entrance that personifies what the neighborhood is like beyond the gate. She submitted her design to the board last week. The board members loved the new design and approved the plans. Cynthia has proposed changing the front to be more water conscious with less maintenance needs. We are currently waiting for the bids from landscape companies on making these changes.

Previous Issues
Neighborhood stickers were purchased for each car in the Forest. The static cling decals for residents will be passed out by block captains (along with the directories) and placed on the inside window of your vehicle. An attached letter will describe placement of these stickers. They will be assigned to homeowners and registered by decal number. They will help to decipher residents and non-residents.
