Dear Jose:

I am writing you this letter because for years I have had so much respect for how you have such high standards for Fox Canyon. But when I read the last issue of your Fox Canyon Voice I became so disappointed in you that I had to write you a letter.

How in the world did you ever allow that DIRTY JOKE on page 8 to be put in a news letter you work so hard to make "high class". That joke has been around since my kids went to high school and they are in their forties now.

I hope when it is read at TONI ATKINS, VINCE HALL, JOHN STUMP or JIM MADAFFER'S Office that they feel that a mistake was made and not that you would approve of such a thing.
I am writing you because you have worked so hard to give respect to you neighborhood and this is really a come down for you.

Dear Sally:

How lovely of you to write after so many years, I do miss our long phone conversations. It was such relief and a load off my back to know that "three guys talking" is a forty-year-old kid's joke.

Thank you so very much for expressing our stature in the community-at-large with such high regards. As you may know high class and standards comes from NOT personalizing issues and working hard to be open to a great diversity of opinions and expressions and not by being judgmental of other's First Amendment Rights and ours. We encourage dialogue from all sorts and do not sensor other's opinion as controversial as those may be.

What I personally missed from your letter is the experience of how you dealt with such situation, forty years ago and the council given to your kids, then. Please write back, as I am sure many mothers in Fox Canyon would like to share in your experience.
