GET A JUMP ON TRAFFIC!
Starting September 7, 2004, Route 830 will provide express service from downtown San Diego to Poway via Mid-City. Route 830 will provide access to Poway’s Business Park and other Poway employers. The total travel time will be approximately 60 minutes from downtown San Diego, and 40 minutes from Mid-City, saving you an hour of travel in each direction!
Commuters will be able to transfer from the Blue and Orange Trolley lines, any downtown and Mid City bus routes. The bus routes that serve downtown are Routes 1, 2/2A, 3/3A, 4, 5/5A, 7/7A/7B, 11/11A/11B, 15/15A/15B, 16, 20, 25, 30/30A, 34/34A, 40, 50, 70, 115, 150, 210, 810, 820, 850, 860, 922, 923, 929, 980, 992. The Mid-City Transit Plazas are served by Routes 1, 7/7A/7B, 15/15A/15B, 40, 70, 115, 908, 960 and 965. In Poway, riders can transfer to the route 844A, 844 and 845.
The route will start in downtown, stop at the I-15 Transit Plazas at University and El Cajon Blvd, continue north on I-15 into Poway, and end in the Poway Business Park. There will be three northbound trips in the morning from downtown to Poway and three southbound trips in the afternoon from Poway to downtown. The fare for this service will be $2.50 one way, or $64 for a monthly pass.
Route 830 is a demonstration project made possible through grants from the San Diego Air Pollution Control District (APCD) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
