Franklin Estates Residents Association

Re-energizing FERA

May 24, 2002

Since FERA's inception in the early 1970s, there have been periods of time when the association has been very active with regulatory issues or social activities or has been dormant. A few years ago (thanks for Solveig Peters and the help of many, many others), FERA was quite an active organization with safety watches, christmas parties, block parties, etc. We would like to provide the opportunity for all of us to join together to make FERA a more active association again.

Although FERA spans a wide range of responsibilities from regulatory to safety to community and social, typically the best way to kick things off is with social activities. It is usually through social involvement that we become more aware of other issues with which we may become involved.

For instance, with regard to social events, if you are interested in participating (and perhaps coordinating, if needed) in a FERA basketball league, bowling league, card club, dek hockey league, moms group, softball team, block party, neighborhood night out, holiday party, etc., let us know! Do you have other ideas/suggestions? We would love to have our members more involved.
