FERA Newsletter ?– January 2003

Happy New Year to FE Residents! We hope that 2003 will bring you good fortune, health and happiness.

Halloween Parade

The Halloween Parade was a great success! Our kids had a great time parading in their costumes on Jefferson Street.

Thank you to Kathy Beauregard for coordinating the event. Thanks also to all of you who contributed snacks at the end of the parade route. Additionally, we really appreciate the hospitality of Joe and Patti Donahoe at the end of the parade route, as well as to Razzak and Donna Memon.

Reflections on 2002

As we reflect on the past year, some of FERA?’s accomplishments in 2002 included:

?• The development of FERA?’s own website (www.neighborhoodlink.com/mville/fera)

?• FE Neighborhood Garage Sale

?• The publication of FERA?’s updated Member Directory

?• FERA?’s Annual Business Meeting

?• The addition of 14 new FERA members to the association

?• The election of new officers to the FERA Board of Directors

?• The annual Halloween Parade

?• An experimental ?‘Neighborhood Night Out?’

?• A small, yet financially sound bank account!

We look forward to an exciting 2003!

What?’s On Our Plate

As we move forward into 2003, we have many opportunities to make an impact in our neighborhood and community through FERA. Some of the regulatory items that the Board of Directors will be working on include drafting a proposal of our desires for green space and parks in Franklin Estates. This information will be shared with residents prior to submittal to Murrysville Council. Council will rely on this input as they review any future proposals of land development from IDC (FE?’s land developer).

If you are interested in providing input into the draft of the proposal, please contact a board member or reply to our website address at franklinestates@hotmail.com.

Beat the Winter Blues

Interested in a progressive dinner with a few neighbors? Want to participate in a parent/child bowling event on a weekend afternoon? If enough people are interested, we will arrange these events for the winter months. Reply to franklinestates@hotmail.com.

Best wishes for the New Year!

Sincerely,
FERA Board Members
Matt D?’Onofrio & Bob Muir, Co-Presidents
Rich Mickel, Vice President
Solveig Peters, Past President
Monica Diacopoulos, Secretary
Fred Holcomb, Treasurer
