Hi Neighbors:

A quick note to keep you posted on some events...

Thanks to those of you who attended our Annual Business Meeting last evening. We truly appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedules to come and share your thoughts and ideas for our neighborhood!

Meeting minutes will be distributed at a later date.

Last Minute Garage Sale Preparations

Ads were run yesterday in both the Pennysaver and Penn Franklin News. Signs will be posted late Thursday or on Friday. The cost for ads was $23.00 which will be split by participants. Monica Diacopoulos will collect money the morning of the garage sale.

Just a few tips for a successful garage sale as noted by the Pennysaver:

1. Clean merchandise & make any necessary repairs and mending. If batteries are needed, have some to use for testing.
2. If item is broken, throw it away
3. Display items on tables or chairs, not on the ground unless items are large.
4. Price to sell, have all items marked with price tags.
5. Get money to be used for change.
6. Equip your selling table with cash box, bags and paper for wrapping, tape measure, scissors, markers and transparent tape.
7. Open 30 minutes prior to advertised time (we advertised from 8 a.m. to noon)

For those of you wishing to donate any unsold items to the Vietnam Vets, they have scheduled a visit to our neighborhood for October 14th. Please phone them at 800-775-VETS to schedule a stop at your house.

E-Directory

We do not have many people registered for Babysitting or Pet Sitting. It has been a huge help in the past to use our directory to find potential sitters for the neighbors. If someone in your family is interested, please contact Monica at FranklinEstates@hotmail.com ASAP so information can be published in the new E-Directory. Adults are extremely welcome to volunteer as babysitters, as well! Babysitters, in particular, are a hot commodity these days!!
