Neighbors,
Better Late than Never!
We have scheduled the annual FERA Business Meeting for Wednesday, February 23, 2005 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Church in Export. Get the latest in events affecting our neighborhood including expansion issues and the future of our association. Please join us!
Get involved! Interested in becoming active in your neighborhood? Looking for an opportunity to meet more neighbors? Want to make our neighborhood association something it's not? One of the topics at the meeting will include staffing new Board of Director positions. After serving at least 2 years each, most of the team is resigning; therefore, we are seeking individuals to fill the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer or the association may become dormant. Consider becoming part of association's Board. The time is minimal, yet the impact can be great!
Not sure what's involved for each position on the Board of Directors?? Excerpts of responsibities from our by-laws include:
President: "...preside at all association meetings, call special meetings when needed, have jurisdiction over all working committees, appoint special committees when needed, represent association members on Civic matters, conduct business affairs of the association, approve expenditures as authorized for payment by Treasurer..."
Vice President: "...in event of absence or unavailability of President shall assume duties and responsibility of President; at all times shall remain informed of association business and be prepared toa ssume duties of President if required..."
Treasurer: "...have charge of and be responsible for all funds, securities, receipts and disbursements of association, deposit monies to bank, maintain a petty cash fund of no more than $100.00, maintain records of accounts, prepare regular statements and present to membership the status of receipts, disbursements; may preside at any meeting at which the President and VP are both absent..."
Secretary: "...shall prepare notices and communicate notices to associations, prepare newsletters, main and perform other duties as assigned by President; keep minutes or arrange fo rminutes to be kept of all meetings of Board or association; maintain file of meeting minutes and provide copies..."

Our Halloween parade this year was enjoyable! Thanks to all who donated snack items, and a special thank you to Jeannie Muir and Kim D'Onofrio of Lexington Court who hosted and arranged the event. You put a lot of smiles on kids' faces! Thanks!
