A WORD FROM OUR LLCHC DIRECTOR
Dr. Dana Vallangeon, Exec. Dir.
LLCHC continues to experience miraculous growth and many additions to the health center in the last 6 months. More and more patients consider LLCHC their medical home, which as a result has increased the number of overall patient visits. We provide between 800 to 900 patient visits each month. Almost half of these are to uninsured patients. We truly have been able to further our mission to increase access to high quality health care to those who need it most. At the same time, provide unreimbursed care continues to present a funding challenge for us. Would you prayerfully consider making an investment in LLCHC?
As of January, LLCHC is thrilled to have a third physician provider and his staff. Due to their skills in Spanish, we are serving more Hispanic patients.
One of the greatest needs of some of our patient is access to mental health care. Since we have not found an external mechanism to adequately meet this need, we have taken steps toward providing these services in-house. This has been made possible by private practice psychiatrists generously donating 4 ?– 6 hours a month to come to LLCHC to see our patients.
The last new service that we are excited to see get off the ground is the expansion of the spiritual care program. We are preparing to start training lay persons to work along side clergy and clinical providers to offer spiritual care to any patient who may want it. This program will be available during all the hours the health center is open.
Our Growth has been such that we are completely out of room, even with the recently completed renovation. With GOD?’S help, we have come so far these past five years, but we have much more to do to ensure that we are truly providing the services that care for the whole person-body, mind, soul and spirit.
