5th Precinct SAFE issued the following alert on September 1:

In the last two weeks there have been eight burglaries committed in the southwest area of Minneapolis. These burglaries occurred in the area from West 52nd St down to West 58th St, from Lyndale to Zenith. These burglaries have been occurring during the day from about 7 a.m. to around 5 p.m. The burglar has been entering by kicking in the rear or side door to the house and takes items such as check books, jewelry, VCRs, and, in one case, a firearm. We believe that these burglaries are being committed by the same suspect, a white male about 5?’6?” tall, in his late 20s. The cases are under investigation and any information regarding these cases can be forwarded to Sgt Tom Stocke at 673-5586.

SAFE issued the following update on September 5:

We have recently been notified that a suspect has been apprehended in the area, with the same MO as most of the burglaries reported earlier.
