As a member of the Oregon City community, you have an opportunity to ?“Give a Voice?” in the
future of the City. Attend a citizen?’s meeting on Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at 7:00 PM at the
Pioneer Community Center, on Fifth and John Adams.
On November 4, 2000, 150 people, like yourselves, attended a Community-wide meeting to
identify focus areas for a Vision Statement. Since that meeting, Citizens have been working on this
Draft Vision Statement for the City:
Oregon City is a Community where people work together with government and elected officials to develop
an overall plan in which everyone with a shared interest participates through a collaborative process.
[ Establishing a positive Community image.
[ Developing, enhancing and interpreting our historical heritage.
[ Creating and implementing the infrastructure to meet the needs of Citizens, Business and Industry.
[ Establishing Oregon City as the ?“End of the Oregon Trail?” and a ?“City of Firsts?”.
[ Providing quality, lifelong education.
[ Valuing, supporting and involving our youth.
We need to hear how you would rate in importance the above bulleted items. Fill out the form
that was enclosed with your water bill or view one through the City website or at
firstcityfuture@hotmail.com. Bring it to the January 31st meeting or drop it before January 26th
at the Interpretive Center, the Library, City Hall, Senior Center or any Public School. It?’s not to
late to get involved! Let your Voice Be Heard!!!
