Meeting Minutes for May 17, 2001
The May 17, 2001, General Membership meeting of Gaffney Lane Neighborhood Association (GLNA) was called to order by Chairman, Derrick Beneville at 7:10 PM. Nine people were in attendance. The following is a summarized version of the minutes:

Speakers:
* Lt. Mike Jarvis, O.C. Police Department, gave a presentation on the Neighborhood Watch program. If anyone is interested in starting up a neighborhood watch program, please contact Derrick Beneville.

Unfinished Business:
* The neighborhood clean-up was a great success. Thanks to all that helped.
* The plant sale was not a real money maker so it won?’t be done next year.
* The garage sale was a success. Sixteen households participated resulting in $160 raised
for the association.
* Treasurer?’s report: Checking account balance is $130.49, Savings account balance is $717.00 for a total of $847.49. A motion was made to approve the report as read and passed. A second motion was made and passed to use $200.00 to rent an inflatable jumper for National Night Out in August.
* Land Use issue reported: Miller Paint is going forth with their building on Molalla Avenue.
* Citizen Involvement Committee report: all neighborhood associations within Oregon City are looking to expand their boundaries so that all property within the city limits is within a neighborhood association.
* Chief?’s Advisory Update: we still need a representative to attend. A brief update was
given on the emergency earthquake exercise that was held.

New Business:
* National Night Out dessert potluck will be held August 7th at Gaffney Lane Elementary.
* There are bike lane markings that have been painted in the bike lane along Meyers Road. Prior to the markings people were using it as parking which is not allowed in bike lanes.
* Deer Meadows II homeowners association has done a great job landscaping along Meyers Road and to the entrances on Andrea Street and Moccasin Way.
* Additional meetings will be held for the master plan for the new Jessie Court Park.
* The next meeting will be held September 20, 2001, at 7:00 PM at Gaffney Lane Elementary School.
* Meeting adjourned at 8:10 PM.
