Gaffney Lane Neighborhood Association is reviewing the possibility of expanding it’s current neighborhood association boundaries to include unrepresented areas of southern Oregon
City.
Following months of review by the Citizen Involvement Council Committee (CICC), Gaffney Lane is proposing to amend it’s current by-laws to include areas adjacent to the neighborhood that are not currently represented by a neighborhood association.
The CICC is comprised of the chairmen of all twelve neighborhood associations
throughout Oregon City. The proposal was brought forth to fill the voids throughout the city where growth is occurring and there is no association to notify or comment on any proposed development.
What does this mean for Gaffney Lane N.A.? We would expand our boundaries to
include households within the City limits that are beyond our current boundaries (see the following description). The new areas would include properties south of Meyers Road and west of Highway 213, as well as property located in the triangle
bounded on the north of Molalla Avenue, south of Beavercreek Road and west of Highway 213.
These changes, if approved at the january '02 General Membership meeting, would not take affect right away. They would need to be brought before the City Commission for approval before they would take effect.
If you have comments on the proposed expansion, please plan on attending the
January 17th, 2002 meeting at Gaffney Lane Elementary at 7:00 p.m.
The proposed boundary expansion was first presented at the September 20,2001 General membership meeting. A map was sent out as part of the Nov./Dec. newsletter and a vote of the expansion was scheduled for the November 15,2001 General Memebership meeting. because of low turnout, it was agreed to postpone the vote until the January 2002 General Memebership meeting where it WILL be voted on.
