With storm season making itself right at home and hurricane season on the brink, severe weather preparedness is on the minds of many concerned Glenmuir residents and Floridians. The National Hurricane Center or NHC has outlined 5 things that each family must do in order to confidently say that they are ready for the 2004 storm season. They are:
Develop a Family plan?– designate teams and what each person should be doing in case of a severe storm
Create a disaster supply kit-stock it with non-perishable food items and first aid items as wells as magazines or books for the kids
Have a place to go-in case you have to leave your home, know where you?’ll go
Secure your home-don?’t drill the holes just yet but have an idea on what you want to do to secure your home
Have a pet plan-in case Rover cant go to the shelter, if you must leave your home, have a storm plan for your furry friend
