What do you think of when you think of a "good neighbor"? Someone who lends you an extra hand when two aren't enough? Someone who looks after your cat and your plants and keeps a watchful eye on your house when you are away? Someone who lends you that needed cup of sugar? (Of course these days it is more likely that someone will want to borrow some fresh parmesan or a roasted red pepper.)
A "good neighbor" to a neighborhood exhibits similar qualities - looks out for he good of the neighborhood, volunteers to improve the quality of the community, contributes to the appearance and vibrancy of the neighborhood, helps build community spirit - to name a few characteristics.
The Good Neighbor committee of GTNA would like to honor its good neighbors through an awards program. These awards would be given to individuals, buildings, programs, or events that have contributed to the appearance, the vibrancy, and livability of the Golden Triangle.
Our goal is to have a special event each September where the awards will be given. We are currently developing a nomination form, refining the criteria, designing the award, and planning the event. We welcome ideas from all of you in making the awards meaningful and making this a special event. Please call 303-572-0506 if you have ideas or questions. We welcome you input.
