The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) is offering a wide range of low-interest rehabilitation loan programs to help residential building owners. In many cases the interest rate on these loans can be as low as 1% - 3% and often work completed through these loans will substantially reduce future real estate taxes. The loan programs can assist with the renovation and upgrading of residential properties of all sizes, vacant or occupied. The work completed through these loans can also help to correct conditions which cause housing code violations against your property.
If you are interested in obtaining more information about HPD 's loan programs, the division of Anti - Abandonment (DAA) can assist you. DAA staff will discuss the various rehabilitation loan programs with you, including eligibility requirements to determine which program is best suited for your property, and will assist you with the application process. To schedule an appointment with DAA staff, please contact Ms. Garcia at the borough Anti- Abandonment office, at (212) 423- 5103, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
