The boat docks are privately owned and operated by a business of the Roberts/Brawley families. Slips are rented on an annual basis. Check with Robert Long (GLT resident) for additional information. For safety reasons, swimming is not permitted near the boat docks.
The Roberts/Brawley families permit GLT residents and their guests to fish from the docks and use the boat ramp. No fish may be cleaned at the docks and all dock users must pick up their trash when leaving the area. After loading or unloading your boat or PWC, please exit the ramp immediately to avoid congestion. Vehicles with trailers should be parked off asphalt in the rocky/grassy area south of the ramp. Two uncovered courtesy slips are available for day use by guests of GLT residents. The slips are located on the south end of the north/south dock at the back of the cove.
Most if not all of the waterfront properties located in GLT have deed restrictions that prohibit or limit the attachment of private docks to the land. In addition, the restrictive covenants applicable to all GLT properties generally prohibit boat docks unless approved by the Building Committee. If you hve any questions about this limitation, you should review the instruments contained in your property abstract.
Also through the courtesy of the Roberts/Brawley families, a swim dock is made available for use by GLT residents and their guests. The swim dock is located to the east of the boat docks and may be accessed by a path that starts on the east side of the circle drive of the boat ramp. Boats and PWC may not be operated near or moored at the swim dock. If passengers need to be loaded or unloaded, please use the boat docks.
